Struggle & Doubt

📖 Verse: Exodus 4:10

📝 “I have never been eloquent… I am slow of speech and tongue.”

🔍 Verse in Context – 7 Reflections

  • Moses responds to God’s call with fear and resistance.
  • He focuses on his weakness, not God’s power.
  • He names his perceived flaw—speech—perhaps a real or imagined disability.
  • God doesn’t shame him but engages his fear.
  • God even offers help (Aaron) rather than abandoning the mission.
  • Moses still goes, but you can feel the tension.
  • He is, by all appearances, completely unqualified—and that’s the point.

❓ Journal Questions

  1. What do you believe disqualifies you?
  2. What would it look like to trust God more than your own ability?

🙏 Prayer

God, I bring You my fears, my flaws, my silence.
Use me anyway.
Amen.
