🔥💨 Symbol: Fire & Wind

📖 Exodus 13:21–22 – By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them… and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light.

💬 Why Fire and Wind?

These are two of my favourite symbols in scripture.

They show up when God is near, when something is shifting, when people are being moved, purified, called, or empowered.

Think of fire in the burning bush,

or the wind over the waters of creation,

or the Spirit’s fire and wind at Pentecost.

🔥 Fire refines, reveals, and often redirects.

💨 Wind stirs, awakens, and breathes new life.

And sometimes, they show up together — like in the wilderness, or the upper room.

🕯️ What These Symbols of Fire and Wind Teach Us

• God is not static or distant — God moves
• God’s presence can be bold and blazing or gentle and whispering
• Fire and wind are not always comfortable… but they are life-giving
• They remind us that God meets us where we are — and doesn’t leave us unchanged
