✨ What Is Creation?

Creation is more than a beginning, it’s a rhythm. In Genesis 1, we see the movement from chaos to order, from emptiness to fullness, from labour to rest. The Creator speaks, and light breaks forth. Waters are separated, land emerges, life teems, and time itself is sanctified.

But creation doesn’t stop in Genesis. It pulses through the poetry of Job, the wonder of the Psalms, the wisdom of Proverbs, and the mystery of John’s Gospel. And it culminates in Revelation, with a new heaven, a new earth, and a renewed invitation to dwell with the Divine.

Creation is not just what was. It’s what is. And what will be.

🌱 Why Creation Matters

Because we live in it. Because we’re part of it. Because it reminds us that life is not random, it’s rhythmic. Creation teaches us to see the sacred in the soil, the stars, the breath, the beast, the silence.

It matters because it’s the first thing we’re told about God: Not a warrior. Not a judge. But a Creator.

And in Jesus, creation is not just remembered, it’s restored. The Word becomes flesh. The light shines again. The seventh day finds its fulfilment in healing, in presence, in peace.

• Go outside: Spend 15 minutes in nature. No phone, no agenda. Just observe. What do you notice? What do you hear? What do you feel?
• Create something: Write, draw, bake, build, anything that mirrors the creative impulse. Reflect on how your creativity echoes the Creator’s.
• Learn something: Read or watch a short piece about an aspect of creation, birds, stars, soil, seasons. Let knowledge deepen your wonder.
• Bless the earth: Pick up litter, plant something, reduce waste. A small act of care is a big act of worship.
